Why Sling Angle Matters in Rigging?
As the sling angle decreases, the tension in each sling increases significantly. Lower sling angles place greater stress on the rigging system and may exceed the sling working load limit (WLL). For safer lifting operations, rigging professionals try to keep sling angles above 60° whenever possible.
Sling Tension Formula
The sling tension can be calculated using the formula:
T = Load / (Number of slings × sin(angle))
